Back in February whilst I was strictly dieting on the Blood Sugar Diet, I came down with what I thought was an attack of IBS. After several weeks of it not clearing up I decided to go to the Doctor.
After blood tests, scans, and a 3D scan I was told that I had a mass the size of a man's fist near one of my ovaries. I was told that at my age it was cancer and that I would need a full abdominal hysterectomy as soon as possible.
Of course all the tests and scans had taken a while going back and forth to the hospital, and so it was the 16th May by the time I went in for the operation.
From when I first found out I had a mass near or on my ovary I of course started to worry. This lead me to losing my appetite and with that and the anxiety I lost a lot of lbs. By the time I went into hospital I weighed 119lbs. Not far short of my weight goal.
I had to stay in hospital during and after the operation for 4 days, and during that whole time I was unable to eat. I was very sick and ill for those 4 days. I personally think it was that I turned out to be very sensitive to the morphine. But on leaving hospital and getting home I weighed myself and I had lost another 7lbs while in the hospital, bringing me down to my goal of 112lbs.
A few days after returning home, I had a phone call from the hospital with the biopsy results of my lump and everything else they removed from me. I was so excited to find out that all was benign.
I now just have to watch that I don't put the weight back on, or that I lose anymore.
